SWGHS Principal's weekly updates for December 16th...

Good evening Southwest!

We only have 5 days left until the holiday break. Please remind your students to turn in all work and make up any necessary time that is owed. When we return form the break, we only have 3 days until teacher made exams, followed by state exams. Let's finish strong!

We need all parents help with our dress code. Please make sure your student is wearing dress code at the start of the day. Putting their dress code in their bag and waiting for redirection is being non-compliant. We started addressing this on Friday, please remind your students to follow this policy from the start of the day to the end of the day.

2nd interim for the 2nd quarter willbe distributed Monday to all students in all classes.

We will have a 20 minute homeroom on Friday so we can distribute all of the ACT and PSAT reports back to students.

The SWGHS Band Boosters have opened a Dewey's Bakery Holiday Shop as the band's main fundraiser this year.  They were generously donated a great location in The Palladium Commons (located in between McAlister's Deli and Moe's Southwest Grill).  They will be selling Dewey's baked goods out of this location from now until December 24th.  The shop is volunteer-staffed by band families, and will have students entertain customers with solo and ensemble performances in the shop during the next five Saturdays.  Go out, buy some baked goods, and support the SWGHS band!

Within this communication are the upcoming GAP Company Open House Schedule for the 2019-2020 Year.
Students must attend at least one of these with a parent or guardian, but they are encouraged to attend as many as they can. Each company will present information about their company as well as what positions they are recruiting for this year's GAP cohort. In addition most companies will give tours of their facilities.

Use the Sign up genie within this blog to sign up since they ask that students and parents register on the sign-up genie but if you decide to go last minute, that is fine too.

This is a wonderful opportunity to see all that this program has to offer!
