ACT Testing
The ACT will be given to all juniors in two administrations. Juniors with last names A – Daniel Kim will test on February 23. Juniors with last names Ryan Kim – Z will test on March 9. To help you prepare for this test, please stop by SWHS and pick up a booklet with important information such as setting up your ACT account to receive your scores and test prep strategies. These booklets will be at the front door for your convenience beginning Monday, February 7.
Students will be allowed to enter the building no earlier than 9:15 on those dates, and testing will begin hopefully no later than 9:45. This exam is approximately 4.5 hours.
No registration necessary.
Are there any students or parents who would be willing to perform some service learning hours building planter boxes for our LifeSkills classes? If so, please reach out to Mrs. Tyska at tyskal@gcsnc.com Electronic versions of the 1st semester report card were sent out on Thursday, January 28th to your e-mail address. If you did not receive this, please e-mail Mrs. Cline and ask her to update your e-mail address so you can receive all electronic information pertaining to your student. Clinek2@gcsnc.com If you have any questions about grades, please contact your student's teacher. Interim reports will be distributed the same way. The next interim will be sent out February 10th.
As a reminder, any student arriving on campus for ANY reason will be asked to complete a screening questionnaire. This allows us to gather information about any possible symptoms of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, potential exposure to someone currently displaying symptoms or direct contact with someone who has recently tested positive for Covid-19. This includes a temperature check. This is a daily requirement for all individuals who enter our building.
We ask you that everyone answers this screening honestly. We ask you do not send your student to school if they are complaining of ANY symptoms you have not had investigated with your doctor. Something as simple as a headache, upset stomach, or allergy type symptom could all be a symptom of Covid-19.
We know there is a flood of information out there. Honesty and transparency are important tools to help minimize the spread of Covid-19.
We cannot predict this virus and know only in part how fast it transmits between people, and the effects it can have on people. Our goal is to stick together and be honest and open with each other.
Need A device? Mobile Wifi? Click on the links below with your need. Mrs. Hunt will get back with you as soon as she can! Huntv@gcsnc.com

If you have any questions regarding grades or attendance, please do not hesitate to reach out to your student's teachers via their e-mail address that can be found on the school's website. This video has been used district wide to provide information regarding pairing student and parent accounts in Canvas so parents can access what is due, what has been submitted, graded, etc. You’ll see in the video that one of the key pieces is a pairing code that can only originate from the student account holder.
