SWHS Principal's weekly updates and reminders for February 25th...

Good evening Southwest community!

Registration planning is underway!  Counselors are meeting with students who are enrolled in English this semester over the next 2 weeks.  If your child is in English, please ask them about the folder that they received or will receive from their counselor.  The information includes an unofficial transcript, information about AP enrollment and AP Potential letters as well as information about Career & College Promise Dual Enrollment. 

The registration window will be open for students to complete the online registration process 3/8-3/17.  Instructions will be shared with parents regarding the process. 

It’s imperative that students and parents participate in the registration process as this helps us to decide which courses will be offered next school year.

With that being said, we have an amazing event tomorrow night, Monday, February 25th. This is our curriculum night for all under classmen and rising 9th graders. Spread the word, especially for all 8th graders who plan on attending SWHS! While all students and parents will be able to interact with teachers of all the curricular opportunities at SW, we will also have an AP potential overview as well as a FAFSA completion session for those who haven’t completed the FAFSA or have questions regarding it.

Come check out our Black History program from 6PM to 8PM this Thursday in our auditorium.  Cost is $2.00. Come out and support these students who are putting on this wonderful program!

Seniors -  As a reminder, applications for the 2019 State Employees Credit Union Scholarship are due to your school counselor on February 25, 2019 by 3:00 PM.

Please continue to reinforce to your student to be wearing the card at all times. We want the students in the habit of displaying the cards at all times, blue lanyard around the neck, not in the pocket, not inside the shirt, etc. .
