SWHS Principal's weekly updates and reminders for May 13th

Hello Southwest!

First and most importantly, Happy Mother's Day to all of our mothers out there in Cowboy Country. Thank you for everything you do. Please enjoy your special day!

We now have 14 days until Teacher made exams begin. Please assist us with reminding your teenager to stay focused and not let anything distract them from finishing strong. Please utilize the Parent Assist program. If you are having difficulty accessing this program, please contact Mrs. Cline at clinek2@gcsnc.com

Please help me in celebrating both the Women's softball and soccer teams as they made it to the 2nd round of the state playoffs. Great season Cowgirls! Also, our Men's baseball team advances to the 3rd round of the state playoffs against Carson High School this Tuesday while we had numerous state qualifiers on our track team advance to the state's this Friday at NC A&T.  Good luck!

This Tuesday, GCS Parent Academy will be hosting an extremely important session related to the Opioid Epidemic. While we know the rise in teenagers using pills is prevalent, here is how you as parents can be in the know. This County wide session is being held right here at Southwest Guilford High School at 6:00PM.

Parents of seniors – if you or your child has not already ordered their cap and gown from Herff Jones, it must be ordered at this time in order to ensure that you receive it in time for graduation.  You must place your order at:  www.highschool.herffjones.com.

If you are interested and able to judge for us this Spring please fill out the form linked below to let Mrs. Meier know of your availability.  We appreciate your willingness to give your time to listen to our seniors present their projects.

Please remind seniors to inform their counselor about any scholarship amounts they have received.
Virtual learning registration forms for summer and fall are available.  Have the students see their counselor for more information.

In order for their ALVS teachers to submit final grades by June 4th, 2019, GCS seniors will need to submit all teacher-scored assignments by midnight EST on May 26th.

Teacher-scored assignments include Practices, Journals, Projects, Teacher-Scored Tests (TSTs), Discussions (Honors only), and Explore (Honors only). Final exams and any remaining Quizzes must be completed by May 31st
