SWHS Principal's weekly updates for May 27

Hello Southwest!

I hope each and every one of you are enjoying Memorial Day weekend! I would like to personally honor and remember all of the men and women who died fighting for our country. Thank you for everyone who has and continues to serves our country.

I would like to thank all staff and parents who contributed to the annual senior picnic. Once again, it turned out to be a great day in celebrating our seniors and their accomplishments over the last 4 years. Also, I hope many of you have seen some of the videos and pictures posted of the Graduation Walk that occurred on the campuses of Florence, SWES and SWMS. It was a great morning to watch the expressions of everyone involved.
When we return on Tuesday, we only have 3 days until teacher made exams begin on Friday. PLease feel free to review this schedule located in my posted weekly blog on ou school website. Please assist us with reminding your teenager to stay focused and not let anything distract them from finishing strong. Please utilize the Parent Assist program. If you are having difficulty accessing this program, please contact Mrs. Cline at clinek2@gcsnc.com.

For seniors and their families, it has come to my attention that some of our seniors and families are selling their graduation tickets if they do not need them. That disappoints me greatly. Each and every morning as I have continued to reinforce to our student body and community "We are...Southwest!". I believe that every time I say that , however, I do not believe this behavior represents that motto. Please feel free to report anyone to me that is selling their graduation tickets as I will not issue the full 12 tickets to those graduates who plan to demonstrate this behavior.  We are a family in this school and in within all the communities we serve and we need to respond accordingly by helping each other. Thank you.

As we are close to finishing this school year, anyone who is graduating or moving out of district, please consider donating your dress code clothes after your last exam. This will assist those who are in need throughout the years to com.

For rising seniors looking for a free blok this upcoming school year, please complete the survey and the form found on the bookshelf outside of Mrs. Hudgens and Mrs. Richards’ office:
