*CTE/EOC Exam Week: Students will be coming into the school building to take these exams. Students will be screened once they arrive and must wear a mask. Students who do not comply with the mask expectations will be removed from testing immediately. Students on buses should arrive roughly between 9:35-9:45. Buses will run for students that need transportation. Students need to ask their teacher where to report once at the school on the day of their testing. There will be no early release from exams. If student does not have a CTE or EOC exam, they do not come to the school that week.

Students will not be allowed into the building until 9:15.

Since all phones will be collected and turned off upon the start of exams, phones may be used after the individual classroom's completion of the test. If a student can do one of the following on these days, they will be dismissed...

  • Show text message proof that they drive.
  • Show that their parents are currently waiting outside - text message.
  • Receive text message that their friend is driving them and currently waiting outside.
  • Can they leave if they walk/ride a bike - of course!  Just send that approval text or letter with your student
If a student does not have a phone, the parent/guardian can call the school number at 336-819-2970 to inform the front office that they are outside waiting for their student. Please do not call earlier. Once that student's room is complete with testing, that student will be allowed to exit.

Students riding a bus must stay on campus in their testing location until buses arrive no later than 4:25. Students are not allowed to wait for any rides on campus, unless they are in the classroom. Immediate dismissal is expected.

  • Students who registered for the October 29 administration will have to “re-register” for the January 26 if they plan to take the PSAT.  Registrations from October 29 will NOT automatically roll-over. This day will be an ASYNCHRONOUS learning day for all other students. No students attend the campus on this day.
  • The PSAT is being held at EACH high school.
  • Hard copy Practice materials will be distributed between 4-6 on January 15th during the schedule pick up session

Any students who may be interested in enrolling into a Social Justice class next semester must contact their counselor immediately.  You may e-mail the teacher of this class as well, Mr. Jeff Aguiar at aguiarj@gcsnc.com

"Intro to Racial Equity and Social Justice explores the foundations of big concepts like power, identity, and authority that play various roles in our daily lives. In addition to examining the present, we’ll look into the past to deepen our understanding of how we came to be here, in this place; this now, where racial equity is again centered in our national conversations. In doing so, we’ll discover some ways that we might individually and collectively make a difference in the pursuit of social justice while also recognizing that learning truly is power."

Please click here if you need guidance in setting up a Parent Portal account. If you have any difficultly with this process, please e-mail Mrs. Kristy Cline at clinek2@gcsnc.com. If you have any questions regarding grades or attendance, please do not hesitate to reach out to your student's teachers via their e-mail address that can be found on the school's website.

This video has been used district wide to provide information regarding pairing student and parent accounts in Canvas so parents can access what is due, what has been submitted, graded, etc. You’ll see in the video that one of the key pieces is a pairing code that can only originate from the student account holder.

Senior families how have yet to order or pick up their graduation supplies, please reach out to Herff Jones through their online portal.
